Salam PAx

I was inspired to write the song, "Salam Pax (Peace)" by the words of an Iraqi blogger who wrote during the invasion of Iraq in 2003, under the name Salam Pax-- the Arabic and Latin words for peace. Like many other readers, I felt a deep connection to Salam's insights, courage, and ironic sense of humor, in the face of inevitable war descending upon his home town.

The song and video, "Salam Pax (Peace)" honor the connections between people of different origins, and the possibility of a more peaceful world.

The "Salam Pax (Peace)" video premiered, as an Official Selection of the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival, on March 1, 2008, and is currently being aired on youtube and was aired on Linktv in March 2008. (news/media). Salam Pax (Peace)" was a Grand Festival Award winner at the 2008 Berkeley Video and Film Festival, where it was screened on September 27, 2008.

The CD includes "Salam Pax (Peace)" and five more great songs by Don Arbor and a band of all-star musicians (The Band)

The DVD has the "Salam Pax (Peace)" video featured as an Official Selection of the 2008 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival, the 2008 Berkeley Film and Video Festival, and Linktv. (News/Media).  The "Salam Pax (Peace)" video was co-directed by Pam McCann (www.pammccann.com) and Don Arbor. Pam put her heart, soul and brains into this project, and I thank her more than words can say, for helping make this video a reality.
